Close to Sandstone Lakes is the Morayfield Shopping Centre, one of the largest retail centres in Moreton Regional Council, which provides single level shopping across 58,646sqm.

It has seven major retailers, six sub-major retailers, and more than 150 specialty stores, there are also 3,034 car parks, 2,795 of them undercover.

Morayfield Village, the neighbouring centre also offers 17 specialty stores covering a further 6,359sqm.

Local shopping is located also on Bribie Island at Bongaree and within Caboolture.

Transport & Infrastructure

Moreton's regional infrastructure projects recently completed or underway will improve transport, water supply, sewerage, stormwater management, public parks and land for community purposes.

Included are:
  • Work is underway on the $298 million State Government’s project to deliver two new 13.7 kilometre rail lines to replace the single winding track that currently exists.
  • Work has commenced on the masterplan for the Caboolture-Morayfield Principal Regional Activity Centre and is expected to be finished later this year.
  • Council has commenced work on their $25 million civic building in the Caboolture Town Square (providing a new library, art gallery and learning centre) as part of the Caboolture Signature Project.
  • The State Government’s $363.1 million upgrade of the Bruce Highway between Boundary Road to Caboolture has been completed, the upgrade has widened the Highway from four lanes to six.
Recreation

The Moreton Region offers a wide range of activities including water sports, rainforest walks, golf and equestrian activities in a proposed new $3.5 million State equestrian centre at the Caboolture showgrounds.
